Essentials For A
Church
Philippians Chapter 2:1 – 6
Verse 1: “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any
comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and
mercies,”
Here we are given 4 very important qualities of the Christian life and
the church.
1. Consolation in Christ
2. Comfort of love
3. Fellowship of the Spirit
4. Bowels and mercies
In order to have the above 4 qualities you must practice the following
character traits:
1. Be Likeminded
2. Have the same love
3. Be in one accord
4. Be of one mind
Verse 2: Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same
love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Verse 3 and 4 describes what will destroy the 4 qualities of the
Christina life.
1. Strife
2. Vain Glory
3. Proud
4. High minded
5. Self Centered
6. Selfishness
Verse 3 & 4: “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look
not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of
others.”
Verse 5: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
The results will be of having the mind of Christ.
