Text: James 2:23

Intro: We tend to have many different relationships with people. A good example is the relationship with family vs. people you work with.

WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?

I. Friend – James 2:23 “And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.”
Websters Definition - one attached to another by affection
A. David & Jonathan
B. Prov. 17:17 “A friend loveth at all times”
C. Sacrifices
D. Cares
E. Concerned

II. Child – John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
A. Loves their Daddy
God carries your picture in his wallet. You should carry His! Bible
B. Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
C. Follows their Daddy
D. Galatians 4:6,7 “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”
E. Obeys their Daddy

III. Bond Servant – Luke 16:13 “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

IV. Heirs of God – Romans 8:17 “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
