Text: Ezekiel 11:1 “Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD’S house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.”

Ezekiel 47:1 “Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.”

Ezekiel 47:9 “And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.”

Intro: A little girl came to her new mother and said, “Mommy, may I have a drink of milk, please?” The mom gave her a big, tall glass of milk. The little girl reached out, held the glass of milk in her hands, looked up at her new mommy and said, “Mommy, before I drink, how deep may I drink?” The mother brushed a tear from her cheek and said, “Sweetheart, drink it all. It’s all yours. You don’t have to share it any more with other children. It’s all for you so drink it all. Drink it all.”

I. Ezekiel is taken to the house of God.
• By the way, that’s always the place the blessings start – in the house of God.
• You hang around the church house, like this one, and you’ll get blessed sooner or latter.
• The water began at the house of God.
• What better place is there to get saved in.
• What better place is there to grow spiritually.
• The best place to invest your life is the church.
• The best place to invest your tithe is the church.
• More people get saved at the alter of a Bible preaching church than all other places put together.

Romans 8:13 – 15 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

• Children should be taught that Sunday morning they go to church.
• Sunday Night they go to church.
• Wednesday night they go to church.
• You make your children go to public school.

As Ezekiel walked 1/3 of a mile the water got ankle deep, another 1/3 of a mile knee deep, another 1/3 of a mile waist deep, another 1/3 of a mile it was over his head and he was swimming.

The first step was this:
1. He kept on walking. Are you saved? Okay.
2. Get Baptized. Are you Baptized? Okay.
3. Join a church. Have you joined a church? Okay.
4. Start Tithing. Are you tithing? Okay.
5. Start working for God. Okay.
6. Read your Bible every day. Are you reading your Bible every day? Okay.
7. Spend some time alone with God every day. Are you doing that. Okay.
8. Lead someone to Christ. Witness for Him.
9. But keep on walking eastward. Don’t ever stop! Keep on growing!

II. The Water Was Ankle Deep
A. Shallow Christians Have Stopped Here.
B. Their Feet Are Covered.
C. Get your feet busy for God.
D. Go Deeper.

III. The Water Was Knee Deep
A. Keep on growing in grace until you become a man of prayer or a women of prayer.
B. Some of you have been saved for 40 years and are still wading in ankle deep.
C. The water has never gotten up to your knees yet.
D. You don’t know a thing about the power of prayer.
E. Get in the water up to your knees!
F. Fall down on your face before God.
G. Some of you have never made your way down to an old fashioned alter.
H. Get in the water up to your knees! Move The Hand of God!

IV. The Water Was Up To His Loins.
A. The Loins represent strength.
B. The Bible says to Gird Up Your Loins.
C. Be Strong!
D. Eph. 6:10, 11 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
E. Don’t Get Discouraged Easily!
F. Don’t Be A Quitter!
G. Be strong in the Lord!

V. Jump In Over Your Head.
A. The Deeper I Get In The Water, The Less Of Me That Shows.
B. And The Less Of My Flesh That Is Magnified.
C. The Reason You Don’t Win Souls Is Because Of The Flesh.
D. The Reason You Don’t Pray Is Because Of The Flesh.
E. The Reason You Don’t Stand For God As A Strong Christian Is Because Of The Flesh.
F. So Jump In All The Way!

Conclusion: Are you content with a mediocre life with Christ. Are you barely covering you feet this morning. God wants you to keep going eastward! Don’t stop growing. God has been good to us. We owe our lives and all that we have to Him!
