AS THE DAYS OF NOAH WERE


Text: Matthew 24:36-39
Introduction:
1. The signs of His coming are everywhere. 2. It's time to get ready! 3. Evil thoughts and evil hearts.
A. It is the same way today.
1. Read the headlines.
2. Watch the evening news.
3. The wickedness and immorality.
B. Eating and drinking and divorce is the order of the day.
C. Homosexuality is accepted!
D. Abortion rights for women.
E. Crime is increasing rapidly.
1. Matthew 24:12
2. Children are murdering children.
3. Lawlessness!
F. TV is not fit to watch.

I. BUT THEY HAD A PREACHER.
A. Brother Noah.
"And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of
righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly," (2 Peter
2:5).
B. He preached Jesus to them.
C. He preached right living.
D. He preached repentance.
E. He warned them of judgment to come.
F. They were without excuse.
G. Men today are without excuse.

II. BUT THEY WOULD NOT BELIEVE.
Mockers and scoffers. 2 Peter 3:3-6 “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:”
A. When the flood waters began to fall and the fountains of the deep opened up they believed but it was too late.
B. Noah and his family were in the Ark. A type of Christ.
C. God shut the door.
D. They sinned away their day of grace.

soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner
